I was wondering, does each ship get the lobster from a local port they stop at? I know when I was on a Caribbean cruise the waiter said it was Caribbean lobster. On a New England cruise do you get served Maine lobster?

There , IMHO, is nothing better than a New England Lobster.

Yes without butter too...

MMMM MMMM Good...

There costs are quite a bit so you see a lot o\f people calling the inferior crusties from Maine when they are NOT.

Remember even the State of New Hampshire has a 17 1/2 mile lobstering coastline...eh..

No, the ship doesn't provision at each port; they are provisioned at the embarkation port with either local produce/meat/fish/lobster or food shipped to the port.

On a New England cruise, you are far more likely to get local lobster (just as good as Maine lobster -- I lived 20 miles north of Boston and there were lobster pots throughout the harbor all spring, summer and fall). Also, the lobster served onboard the ship is frozen; not fresh. The only fresh lobster you'll get is in the specialty restaurant and there'll be a premium charge on top of the specialty restaurant charge.
