vegs1 Posted June 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2009 We are taking a cruise tour in late June 2010? When should I start booking excursions? Thanks, Bill If you are booking excursions privately, you should start now to secure your spot. We booked Island Wings for our July 2009 trip in April 2008 and also booked Harv and Marv's in June of 2008. Captain Davey in Sitka was around the same time frame. We were happy that we got our spots reserved and didn't have to worry about it. Plan what you want to do and book as early as possible. Happy planning. rjm1cc Posted June 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2009 If you realy want the excrsion book now. Some due fill up. Check the cancelation policy. I think most cruise ships will give you a refund up to a week or two before saling.
Budget Queen Posted June 14, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 14, 2009 IF you know exactly what you want, then book early. BUT many times, people don't, so do your homework and start booking at the 6 month mark. Usually many tours still have availability. More important, hopefully, you "know" everything about your cruisetour?? Can have many shortfalls/mistakes in choices, that people just don't realize. Putterdude Posted June 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted June 14, 2009 Many of the tours like float planes, helicopters, and whale watching excrusions have a finite number of seats available so the sooner the better.
