Hello first time suite; I would appreciate knowing if on formal nights if you can order room service or if you need to dine in the dining room.

Also,

to order room service in a suite can you decide at 4pm that you want dinner delivered at 5:30pm or do you have to reserve ahead.

We do enjoy dressing up and going to the dining rooms, just wondering as sometimes my husband wishes he did not have to don the tux on hot caribbean nights, he prefers his tux over his suites.

We always dress up for the other nights dinners too.

We never miss the Captain's party!

If you are booked in a full suite (mini suites are not included in this), the diningroom menus will be delivered to you each morning for lunch and dinner. If you want to have dinner in your suite (or any other meal) you just call and order and it is usually delivered within 20-30 minutes. No need to pre-order or give them notice. Just remember, diningroom service is during regular meal times when the diningroom is open. ;)

Everything that Toto said is true. From past experience you will enjoy the meal more I believe in the Dining Room as room service brings everything at once. Not the case with the Ultimate Balcony Dinner but that will cost you extra.

I noticed last time and my only time in a suite that the lunch menu was there when we first arrived. Being a new cruiser I thought it was for the next day's lunch but it was actually for the embarkation day lunch. After dinner that evening the lunch menu had changed.

My question to the more experienced would be, could we have ordered room service that day or was it a hint (which I did not pick up on) that an actual dining room was open for lunch? The Patter did not show any dining room open that day so we headed off to the Buffet.

Seadeck, would you please ask your steward when you arrive if indeed you could order room service the day of embarkation? It would be greatly appreciated as I'm sure it would have been better than the Buffet. Just really curious as I may never sail in a full suite again.

Thanks so much!!

One thing I found out before our last cruise from someone on CC (wish I could remember who, but I am drawing a blank on their name right now), that I honestly did not know. If you are booked in a full suite, and call the night before disembarking, you can order a full breakfast delivered to your suite on disembarkation day, as long as you order it to be delivered by around 7:30 AM (since you must vacate your suite by 8:00 on most sailings).

The reason you call the night before to order is because the room service kitchen is closed that last morning onboard and they don't answer the phone. Your breakfast is brought directly from the main diningroom.

It is lovely to enjoy one last breakfast in your suite, no rushing around or standing in lines. A perfect way to end your perfect cruise! ;)

yes, it is a full suite. We go in Feb and I will ask our steward about embarkation lunch (great idea) hopeful cruiser. We have always enjoyed the dining room experience, and the buffet however, since we will probably go back to a mini-suite again next time, we were thinking of maybe taking advantage of the views and the nice private table for two. We will have to try the dining rooms as Princess does have great service and the dining rooms are nice. We have anytime dining. Toto2Kansas, thank you for the disembarkation hint of breakfast on the balcony. Your assistance is appreciated and now we know not to skip dinner in the dining room.

Hope you take advantage of the in room dining offered in a full suite. We also dine in on occasion. Remember, the dining room is usually open until 10.......excellent for late night flan or cheesecake.
