NANCYR2 Posted June 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2009 Is there any advice or information on taking Amatrak from Seattle to Vancouver?
NWWanderer Posted June 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2009 There are quite a few threads on this topic on the West Coast Departures board that cover that trip in detail.
98Charlie Posted June 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2009 DH & I did this last year. Absolutely loved it. Ride is an excursion in itself. Best seats are on the left side of the cars for a view of the coastline; however we had seats on the right side and enjoyed the view of the many small towns we passed through as well as the beautiful fields. Putterdude Posted June 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2009 It's a very popular service and I am sure you will like it. But do check over on the West Coast board, it is a very active thread.

NWWanderer Posted June 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted June 18, 2009 If you go to the main message board page, it's in North American Homeports, right above Ports of Call.

sbflcruiser Posted June 23, 2009 #10 Share Posted June 23, 2009 We took the train from Seattle to Vancouver to at the start of our trip. It was a highlight, as someone else stated an excursion in itself. We saw lots of things from the train, but espically eagles, we saw more on that train ride (over 30) not sure if that is normal or not. It was a great way to travel. I would recommend. cindep Posted June 23, 2009 #11 Share Posted June 23, 2009 AND you go through Canadian customs at the train station -- much easier than at the airport. To me that was a great advantage to the crowds at the airport. There is also an ATM in the train terminal and plenty of cabs to take you wherever you need to go.
