saving on booking?

Recommended Posts

So, I am definately not a newbie here. I've got 6 royal cruises down in 5 years. We love Royal and keep coming back for more. So, I'm looking at booking AOS for Jan; now, since I've got some time on my hands, the goal this time is to get the best deal possible. In the past, I always booked with royal's phone service or on the website thinking there was no better deal out there. I hear rumblings on these boards of people getting OBC's, etc.... I want to know from those that have saved money beyond the posted cruise price or recieved "kick backs" such as the OBC's and how did you get them? I have booked on board before and that was the one way I've recieved OBC's (besides the Royal Caribbean credit card rewards). Also, if you get an OBC from a TA, can you still you credit card rewards to extend the OBC to a higher price? thanks.

TA's will have the same EXACT prices as RCCL directly unless the TA is holding group space.

It is hit or miss who will offer OBC's or other perks, but pick your TA by the service they give, will they honor price drops, check for them for you? charge any fees? Will the price drops be honored after final payment?

You should be interviewing a TA like you would any other professional that you hire.
