A Good Tour Company in Livorno (Florence) Italy?

We are arriving in Livorno on the Ruby Princess on September 3rd...and have already been to Florence and Pisa.

We are hoping to get onto a tour that will take us to Orvieto and Umbria. I have heard wonderful things about these two places.

Does anyone have any suggestions at to which companies might provide us with a good tour in this area?

Also...have any of you been to Anguillara? It sounds charming too!

Thanks so much!

We recently used Giovanni Sirabella of Sunflower Tours. He had a set price for a whole day (he spent 11 hours with us) and arranged a tour for exactly what we wanted to do. He was patient and flexible, changing plans as we went along according to what we wanted to do. We had a fabulous day. There were 4 of us in an air conditioned van that would hold 8. His e-mail is giovanni@sunflower-tours.com or giovanni.sirabel9bud@alice.it he always answered us promptly unless he was away with a tour.

We just got back from a cruise and used Guido Sarzani from www.tuscanyinmypocket.com. Our entire family (many different ages) cannot stop raving about the guy since we returned. He was born and raised in Florence and he knows everything about the area (including exactly where to park so you can avoid the long walks) and is extremely entertaining and friendly.

Just back and I'd recommend allarounditaly.net. Fabrizio was beyond excellent, I could have toured with him for a week. Very friendly , funny, and he knows many regions in Italy, seems to know people everywhere. Reasonable rates, and he always replied to my emails quickly.

Civita de Bagnoregio in Umbria is awesome! I have used Papillon twice out of Livorno and highly recommend.

Happy travels,

We used Fabrizio for three Italian days on our cruise July 2009. We

had a group of people in his van. Fabrizio was very responsive to

emails and inquiries. He was always punctual and tried to please

everyone in the group. He was passionate about showing us his

country. He managed to drive us as close as possible to every site so

that we minimized the walking time and maximized on sight seeing. He

knew every little lane ways to get in and out. He also knew the best

timing to see various sites. In fact, he got us into the St Peter's

Basilica with a very short 10 minute line up. Another example was the

coliseum when we walked past a 45 min line up of people. Will

definitely recommend him to anyone interested in seeing Italy. Why

would anyone book any cruiseline excursions when you can have Fabrizio

show you around.

We had a perfectly wonderful tour called "Cooking at the Castle" from Dock and Discover. We drove through the olive groves to Tuscany and a Renaissance castle sitting on a hill. We toured the castle, including the bedroom where 3 popes slept, and then had a wonderful Italian cooking lesson and ate our own food in the formal dining room! It was a bucket of fun!
