Howdy Euronman! 50.gif Welcome to Cruise Critic! 04.gif

When you have a chance, please click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=44773 to read the Sticky post titled What is a ROLL CALL and how do I find mine?

Please note it says:

IF MY ROLL CALL IS SLOW, CAN I POST IT ON OTHER FORUMS?

No. Please don't post threads looking for others cruising with you on any of our other forums. Roll Calls became so popular that there was a need to set up a separate area for them. We ask that you keep Roll Call type discussions to your Roll Call in the ROLL CALL forums and keep the other forums open for general cruise discussions according to forum topic.

The topic for this forum is shown in the little box above:

Solo Cruisers Do you leave your cares -- and everyone -- behind when you cruise?

I feel you will receive lots of support and help on this forum for your first solo cruise. Just read through some of the other threads here.

By clicking your user name Euronman above the words Cool Cruiser on your above post and then Find all posts by Euronman, I see you have found your Roll Call thread titled Mexican Riviera August 9, 2009 (8/9/09) at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=683565. That is where you will find your fellow solo Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Your Roll Call thread has a "captive audience" since everyone is sailing together! 05.gif

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful and glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!

Click here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/index.php for the list of all Cruise Critic message board forums and be sure to read all Announcement and Sticky posts at the top of the various forums for very important information or instructions before you post.

Please feel free to use the Search this Forum feature on all Cruise Critic message board forums with your key word or words. It will help narrow down the threads you will want to read during your research. Also, you can see if your inquiry has been asked and answered before. And it probably has... many, many times! 05.gif

Click the Search this Forum feature to open the drop down. Type in your key word or words then click the little Go button. I suggest you do not try a search with too many or too common of key words at one time. This will sometime overwhelm the search feature with too many threads to scan and it will time out. From time to time, you may receive an error message that says "Search function is down". PLEASE TRY AGAIN in a few moments. This message will often pop up during the busiest times of the day. Also, be sure to read the Sticky post titled How To Perform More Detailed and Specific Searches on the Boards at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=969846.

The following information may be helpful too:

Be sure to read our FAQ, especially the Getting Started section. You will see how a new topic should be consistent with the specific forum you choose. It also gives a brief summary of the topics covered in some of the forum sections. Other important FAQ sections are Subscriptions (Receiving e-mail notification of replies to posts and threads you specify) and User Maintenance.

In the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free membership, please note the Please Browse BEFORE You Post section since many of your questions may have been asked and answered before as mentioned above.

While doing your research, be sure you are on the correct forum. After you have browsed/researched for your topic and possibly not found an answer, word your new inquiry title so the other members scrolling through the thread titles will know exactly the information you seek. This will help the members so they can reply to you. It is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic or concerning one cruise line, port of call, etc. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship & sail date in your inquiry if it will help the members with their answers to you.

If you wonder what some of the icons/symbols/arrows on Cruise Critic mean, just use your mouse to hover your cursor over the item and most often a tool-tip will appear with the name or action.

I sincerely hope this additional information will be helpful!

Glad to be of service,

My last solo was on the Mariner of the Seas. It is a wonderful ship and I had a blast. The staff was so nice and everyone on board was so kind to me. I booked my shore excursions through HAL and I got to know several people that way. Everyday I ran into people I knew. It seems like when you go solo people remember you more then when you travel with someone. I had people come up to me in the dinning rooms, show rooms and in the hall ways saying hi. I was the one who had the hard time remembering everyone.

Also, when they found out I was solo many asked me to join them at the shows, meals, excursions and to play games.

I think you will love it.

I also think as solos we should be able to post here asking if other solos are going. Roll calls are nice but getting to chat with other solos is nice too.
