Booking in UK vs USA

We were looking at a cruise operated by Swan Hellenic and their UK site showed a price of GBP5995 for the 16 day cruise, plus 3 nights in BA, and air travel between BA and Ushuaia. Tried booking it, but they referred us to the Florida office, who referred us th Abercrombie and Kent's US office. AK has the same cruise, but with 2 nights hotel and no air for $11,021.

This is much higher than the price in GBP converted to USD!

 

I emailed Swan Hellenic and here is their response:

Due to contractual agreements between Abercrombie & Kent and ourselves we can only sell our Antarctica cruises to UK residents. If however, you can provide us with an address within the UK/Europe for all your documentation then we can accept the booking through our UK office.

Apparently, all I need is a friend in the UK!

Found 2 travel agencies in Aussies who will gladly sell the cruise at UK prices converted to AUD!
