Barbados tour time?

Our ship docks in Barbados at 9 am and we need to be at Gate 2 at the terminal at 10 am to meet our private tour operator. Is that time o.k. where we have to take a bus to the terminal (4 ships in port). The tour operator has a 50% "no show" fee if we don't make it!

If the ship really docks at 9:00 AM, you should have no problem getting off the ship and getting to Gate #2 in the terminal by 10 AM. Typically 9:00 AM is the time they allow passengers to go ashore, the ship will have docked well before that time. Depending on where you dock you can take a shuttle or walk to the terminal. Either way it's about 10 minutes (tops) from the base of the gangway to the terminal. Remember stuff runs on island time, so if you show up at 10:05 AM "no problem."

I wouldn't say being late is "no problem". You could be left and it is very inconsiderate to those who are on time to keep them and the tour oeprator waiting. This has happened to us many times. We rush to get there a few minutes early only to wait for others who nonchalantely take their time. It makes your fellow tour mates peeved. Now if you're late because you couldn't get off the ship - that's "no problem" cuz nobody else would be able to either and you won't make others late.

Your ship most likely docks physically at 8 a.m.

but with paperwork and Port clearance to be attended to,

the time they give you guys ...is the time they let you off the ship -which is 9 p.m.

(it takes about an hour to get the stuff done..)

I see a lotta cruise ships come and go, on the island here

and they usually get in around 6 -8 a.m. typically.

It would be kinda unusual for your ship to be coming in at 9,

with you guys not being let off until 10.

You on an NCL ship?

They usually come in around 8 a.m. -a bit behind the others.

UK ships get in real early, before 0600 hrs.

Then the American ships get here...around 6-7.

NCL gets in last, rarely before 0800 hrs.
