Anyone used the left luggage facility at Piazzale Roma in Venice ?

We arrive early so were thinking of leaving our luggage and checking in for the cruise mid afternoon.

Anyone know how much it cots ?

Go few steps further to Train Station Santa Lucia.

For most cruise ships embarking in Venice the porter organisation offers for 5 EUR/bag the transfer to your cabin.

Works only if you have already your baggage tags.

The Left Luggage location is very convenient if you take the ATVO (blue bus) transfer from the airport. The bus costs 3 euro pp. As you get off the bus, look to the right. It is just across the street. The cost is 4 euro per bag. The free shuttle to the ship is just to the left of the ATVO stop. We really enjoyed the cruise.

We caught the ATVO airport bus, left the big bags at the left luggage office then walked to our hotel pulling small overnight bags. The following day we reversed the process and caught the free port shuttle bus from Piazzale Roma to the ship. Very easy and cheap

We will be arriving in Venice the day before our ship sails and staying in a hotel near San Marco. We we're hoping to just take a small overnight bag to the hotel in Venice and meet up with the other luggage when we are ready to board the ship the next day.

Sounds like we can check luggage at Left Luggage at Piazzale Roma, and from there head to San Marco.

From replies in this thread, it sounds like we could also have our main bags transferred to the ship from the train station. Hope I read that right. Does this work only on the same day as ship departure or could we arrange for transfer of bags to the ship the day before? This sounds like an easy way to do it if they would hold bags one night and then transfer them to the ship the next day. Has anyone tried this and if so, did it work out well? I wouldn't want the luggage getting left in Venice!! We will be sailing on Celebrity Summit in October.

We would like to avoid dragging all of our luggage to Venice hotel for one night.

Thanks.
