WOW! Hilton Riverside Cruise Special Has Gone WAY Up

WOW ! I just called and the rate for the cruisers special has gone WAY UP. For my date it is $189. a night to include the parking for 7 days - paying another $22 for the 8th. Too much. I will have to figure something else out.

 

Anyone manage to get the $99 rate for 2005?

Website says $129 for the park and cruise special.

 

It is next door to Fulton Street garage where the run shuttles to the cruise ships. Just pretend like you parked your vehicle there. Or maybe your original plan of running one vehicle over and then walking back.

I just called to try and find out some info but the person I need to speak to is on vacation until tomorrow. I'll call back then and let you know what I find out.

Spoke with Maurine at Holiday Inn Select Convention Center Blvd 1-504-571-7724. She told me the rates are the same for 2005 as 2004.

 

SO – based on when you stay this is what you are looking at –

$129. – Low Seaon (June – Aug, Dec)

$139. – Shoulder Dates (Jan, May, Sept)

$209. – High Season (Feb – April, Oct, Nov)

This includes –

A bottle of wine

Continental Breakfast for 2

Parking for 7 days

Shuttle to and from the cruise terminal (through Fulton Street Parking)

Shuttle to Harrah’s and the French Quarter

You have to pay for parking for 1 night if you do a 7 night cruise. If you use the hotel parking it is $22.00 a day -–if you park at the cruise parking for the entire time you will have to pay $12.00 for the one day.

I called Riverside about rates for May 21 -- was quoted a rate of $259. When I asked about the pre-cruise special I was told that the "special" rate for the same room was a whopping $389! :eek: That even surprised the reservationist! We went with the Holiday Inn French Quarter at $129 and 7 days free parking ($23 for the first night). I think the Holiday Inn Convention Center is the better deal, but DH wanted to be in the French Quarter. :rolleyes:

You got a great rate for the French Quarter. I'm told it's worth it to be in the quarter.

For those cruisers not needing to park a car, we got the Astor Crowne Plaza for $89.00 for our March Springbreak cruise. It is on the corner of Bourbon and Canal Street and gets pretty good reviews on tripadvisor.
