VIP luggage tags available

Superduty

Recommended Posts

I have 10 VIP luggage tags leftover from my recent Alaska cruise. Available to anyone who wants them. Have your luggage placed in a separate area from the general luggage upon disembarking from your NCL cruise. Makes it much easier to find your luggage.

I will send them to whoever replies to this post with the number of tags you want and you have to send me an email with your mailing address. Email to superdutyatgmail.com Replace at with @

Gee, why not try to sell them? I hear they have a black market value of at least one cent each. :D

It should be fun finding your luggage if they happen to be using different color tags on your cruise.

FWIW, I have been on 3 NCL cruises over the course of 4 yrs. The VIP tags have been identical for each trip. I am not trying to make any money on these - just doing a favor for anyone who may desire them.

Obviously since I said "Gee, why not try to sell them? I hear they have a black market value of at least one cent each. :D" I know you're not trying to make any money.

It's bad idea to assume that anything will remain as is. I could point out any number of things NCL has changed in recent months, from luggage allowances to Pepsi replacing Coke, to "Welcome Aboard" booklets, to Latitudes benefits, to dress codes, to menus on certain ship or in certain restaurants...and on and on...

Having been on 4 NCL cruises, on 3 of them our VIP luggage tags were red. This past time, they were gold. But, I don't know if I would use them if I wasn't a VIP. Yes, it's a separate area than the rest. But, what if I didn't have access to that area because I wasn't a VIP? It's just my opinion. But, I think I would have my luggage go with the masses. That's a nice offer, though, Superduty. Thanks!

Just a note that one of my VIP bags was taken by mistake on one cruise, while the Concierge assisted the family loading the bags onto a porter's cart in NYC. Fortunately, when he spotted us looking for mine, loaded with the grandkids souvenirs, he found that family's one remaining bag. We were lucky the self proclaimed "idiot" lived in NJ, and noticed the mistake an hours or so later. We took his bag to the curb and waited. He pulled in, I brouight his bag to his SUV, he put it in the car, said one word, "Thanks", and we were off to CT exactly 3 hours after debarking with the VIPs. Oh, the family of two were in one of the Forward facing suites about 4 cabins away from our balcony.

Note with the tag comes the VIP debarkation, so I'm not sure what that would mean for someone using your "donation". I also note you would not only not make any money on such a offer, but it would actually cost you the postage.

We are booked in an AD suite on the Gem for TA Barcelona to NYC at end of November. Will be be getting VIP Luggage tags?

Yes, you will. You'll also get VIP perks throughout the cruise: priority embarkation, butler, concierge, priority tender tickets (if you tender), daily treats delivered, fruit bowl replenished, special butler menu for room service. The list goes on. Enjoy!

Okay, call me confused. Admittedly, I've only sailed in a suite on NCL once, so I'm not an expert. However, that one time (2 weeks ago) our VIP luggage tags arrived with a letter in our cabin. The letter instructed us to attach the tags to our bags, and then meet in a specific area at a specific time for the concierge to escort us off the ship and to our luggage. The meeting time was early, as that's what they do for VIP's...take care of them first. And since we lived close to the port and were in no hurry to get off the ship, we had no desire to rush the last morning to disembark. I spoke to the concierge and told her our plans and she told us under those circumstances, not to use the VIP luggage tags. She said that the VIP area is "guarded" and once all VIP's were escorted off, she wasnt' sure what the guard might do with our luggage if we showed up a lot later. Therefore, we picked another color for our baggage so that we could get off the ship later and not have to worry about our luggage.

So, the end of this long winded story is: If you are not in a suite and given the VIP luggage tags by NCL, you won't get the VIP escort off the ship and using those tags, may not be a wise idea.

I didnt find any special guards in the VIP luggage area on 3 NCL cruises. The bags dont seem any safer in the VIP area then in the other areas. The only difference is that you only have to sift through a 100 suitcases instead of 500?

Come on guys..I think the OP was just trying to do something nice. If someone wants to use them and take a chance, let them. I appreciate the warnings, but I think someone should acknowledge, right or wrong, the OP was just trying to make someone's day by giving them a little something they wouldn't have otherwise.

CG, we have actually done both. Used ViP tags when being escorted off and used them when we waited until last call. Every time there was a person there to point us to the VIP area and asked if we were VIP's, but they didn't check our names or anything. I will say the last time we waited until last call there was a guy putting all the VIP luggage together since it was some what scattered out by that point. Personally, I like waiting until last call, although I always feel bad for the room stewards cause I know they need to get the suite ready for the next guest, just hate leaving the beloved stateroom.. 8-)
