River Tubing/suggestions

Has anyone done the River tubing safari? If so, was it worth it and what time do they pick you up at the ship? What are some other excursions that you would suggest? We are not the hiking/biking nature type of people, but do like to do fun stuff. Thanks for your help

I am on the Destiny on 1/23/2005 and was thinking about the tubing as well. Interested to see what people say.

This was one of my favorite excursions ever. Tubing down the river was a scream, and the tour company "Wacky Rollers" was excellent. The guides helped everyone and seemed to have as much fun as the tourists. We stopped for fresh coconut snacks and drinks. Floating down the very scenic river is awesome. It rained on us while tubing, and the rain looked golden the valleys. We loved it!

 

Dominica is a very very poor island. Suggestion: don't bargain TOO hard on shopping and tip guides well. If you can afford a cruise, you can afford not to beat up the locals for an extra dollar off on a tshirt.

Does anyone know if there are any private non-ship tour companies who do the river tubing?

I would agree with travelpro on this one--go with WackyRollers. Lots of guides, and new tubes designed for this purpose. Beautiful river valley. No deposit required and they will meet you at the dock.
