People were bringing armfulls of junk food on from the Walmart in Peurto Vallarta the other week on Splendor and others were told some home baked bread from a tour was fine also. If I were you I'd keep things as sealed as you are able.
Rare mizLORInj Posted July 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 14, 2009 ooooooooo pick me up some Timbits!!! I've bought packaged food, water, etc, in ports and have not had any problem bringing it onboard. Coffee shouldn't be an issue at all. While at St. John next month, I plan to get a Tim's brkft sandwich! Love those!

Perfect Stranger Posted July 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted July 14, 2009 How about slushy kinds of drinks, alcoholic or not? Do they smell them and if so, do they make you discard them if they contain alcohol?
yst347 Posted July 14, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2009 You won't be hassled for bringing a drink back on board. Only once have I been asked to check a six-pack of beer at a port of call. They are really only interested in bottles of booze.
papillon cruiser Posted July 14, 2009 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2009 If you have an open drink like a yard drink or something they usually let you bring in on. Haven't seen a problem with this.
Max Circus Posted July 14, 2009 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2009 I think the key is "packaged" for food items - especially in the Caribbean. Since the food standards can vary greatly in the islands, a cruise ship doesn't want to risk contamination by having unpackaged food or fresh fruits onboard.
