Mosquitos

Has anyone heard that mosquitos are a major problem in Venice?

The months that I have visited Venice have been September and November and no problems during those times.

I really do not believe that Venice has a mosquito problem, none that we have seen on our two visits in the months of September and October. Perhaps because the water is brackish, rather than still.

 

In our experience, Florence has a much more severe mosquito problem; mosquitos really like stagnant water.

Has anyone heard that mosquitos are a major problem in Venice?

Yes...they can be quite bad in the summer months and if you are prone to them,then take some repellant or just buy some there.Other months are fine.
