Passport holders get special line at Vancouver airport

Recommended Posts

Well, last year, Vancouver airport got their act together and changed the way they set up the lines when you go in to Canada.. and this year they seem to be changing the way you leave Canada.

As you may or may not know, you "enter" the US at the airport and clear US immigration and customs there. Flying back last week, I noticed they are now setting up separate, faster moving lines for immigration just for passport holders...they built a few new booths there for it, too.

Another good reason to get a passport...

This reinforces what I said yesterday on a reply to someone who wanted to know if getting a passport was worthwhile. I stated the process goes faster with passports, because they're standard and the customs folks look at the same stuff on the same page, and you zip through.

Thanks for the update!

We just came home from Vancouver this last Saturday, and I barely had time to say to my husband "Now aren't you glad we got passports when we did?" before we were whisked through customs! Meanwhile, non-passport holders had to stand in this snakey, Disneyesque type line!
