I went to see the QE2 at the new terminal last year. Almost in front of the Three Graces.

This article from last year says:

When QM2 berths alongside the new Cruise Liner Terminal next year, the world-famous vessel will provide a spectacular focal point on the city’s revamped waterfront

Yes you can walk to the Albert Dock.

QM2 is due to dock at the new terminal, so the Albert Dock is just over 10 minute walk away. You will also be close to the new Liverpool One shopping area, the rest of the city centre and also a very short walk to Moorfields and James Street stations (good for the Gormley statues at Blundellsands/Crosby & the Wirral).

We walked from the QE2 docked at the new terminal to the Maritime Museum. Spent a lot longer in the museum than I expected to - great exhibits! You might also enjoy the Tate Museum, which is in the same complex.

There may also be a celebratory concert in the Anglican Cathderal to which all passengers are invited. (Are you a passenger ?)

Gavin.

(Not sure if you are on this Cruise or just visiting )

Gavin,

Do you happen to know if this possible concert will be during the day or in the evening?

This is an idea for a DIY excursion (allow 2-2.5hours)......

This is a short 15 min train ride, from close to the Pier Head/cruise terminal - walk along the sea front from Blundellsands & Crosby station to Hall Road or v.v.
