KathyPet Posted August 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2009 I posted this earlier but it is not showing up so I will try again. We are currently booked on the April 2010 14 day Venice to Barcelona sailing but have decided to switch to the 12 day Venice to Rome sailing so that we can spend a couple of days at the end of the cruise in Rome a city we love. There are 4 dates for this itinerary in 2010. The Insignia sails on 6/5 and 9/5. The Nautica sails on 7/24 and 10/18. We disgarded the 7/4 sailing (too hot and too crowded). Can't do the 9/5 date due to a family wedding so that leaves the 6/5 or the 10/18. Which to do? the advantages of the June 5th in my opinion are that the weather should be nice (warm but not too hot I hope) and the days are longer so we would have more daylight to sightsee. THe negative is that we are starting into prime tourist season and may encounter heavy crowds. The 10/18 date offers less crowds but it will be dark earlier and the weather could start to get cold and nasty at the end of OCtober. Which would you do?
