chaloop Posted August 6, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2009 We will be traveling with an 18 month old and a 4 yr old. Is it easier to get to Port Canaveral or Miami from the airport with kids. We may have to do hotels on one or both ends.
cb at sea Posted August 6, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2009 Miami is only about a 20 min. cab ride to the port. Orlando is at LEAST 45 mins or longer from Port Canaveral, and you really need some sort of "pre-arranged" transport---a cab would bust the budget! asylum575 Posted August 6, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 6, 2009 Miami port is fine, Miami airport is a zoo. Especially AA's terminal.
crusinmama06 Posted August 7, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2009 For distance and ease of getting to/from port - Miami. Easily. The distance between MIA and the port is 8 miles and a 20 minute cab ride with a $26 flat fee. MCO to Port Canaveral is a bit more complicated. Since it is so far away (45 minutes) it requires either a cruise transport (expensive), a rental car (a pain) or a private towncar/driver (what we have always done). If you need a hotel, check out Holiday Inn Port of Miami for a close port hotel.
