Celebrity Century - Casino

We are only a few weeks away from our first Celebrity cruise:) - very excited now. We have previously cruised Princess (Island, Emerald, Grand, Crown) and are wondering how the Casino on Century compares in both size and amenities (slot choice etc).

Has anyone else sailed both lines please and able to give a comparison. Or could you give any details of the Century. Many thanks in advance.

Hi Glenda,

We have cruised on the Century twice. If I remember correctly, the casino is not very large, however, it did seem to accomodate the passengers. The Century itself is not a very large ship. The casino on this ship has been the (Luckiest) casino for us. I started with 30.00 on the Wheel of Fortune, playing 3.00 a spin, played for about 2 hours and walked away with a bit over 1200.00.:D DH played craps for a while almost every night and his final tally of winnings was in excess of 3000.00.:D This has been the most we have ever won from any of the casinos on any of the ships we have been on.

Here's to hoping you win and by all means enjoy your cruise.:D

Wow Connie that really was lucky for you both:D - and long may it continue!! Let's hope some of the luck rubs off - if so, I'll let you know.:)

Thank you for your reply. We are very much looking forward to cruising Celebrity, we have read such good things about the cruise line, and have the Equinox and Eclipse (I think ) sailing out of England, which gives us more opportunity.

We usually fly out to FL to pick up Princess for our winter Caribbean cruises, although this time around we'll be taking the Sea Princess (mainly for the lovely itinerary).

Best Regards

Glenda

Yes, We certainly do wish you the VERY BEST of LUCK. Winning is so much fun. I think you will like the Century. I believe that Alan King was the cruise director when we were on the Century. IMHO, he is one of the best. We have cruised on her twice and would do so again but then it is fun to go on other ships.

We were planning on trying Princess this year with a cruise of the British Isles, we emailed a lovely couple that we met (on a cruise) that is from Scotland and ask them to join us. They insisted that we just come to Scotland instead of crusing, so we will be leaving the 19th of this month to spend 2 weeks there. I LOVE the GREAT UK.

I have sailed on both the Emerald Princess & the Century. I actually prefer the casino on Century. (It paid better ---- at least for me.) Was on the Century Baltic tour 3 months ago, put only 12 quarters in a slot & won $3,000.00!! Paid for my trip! Yippeee.

I've sailed and played on X Century and Caribbean Princess and preferred the casino aboard Century. It's smaller IMO but had more dollar slots including WoF. :) I played mostly tables on Princess and although I had fun (great crowd) I lost. :(

I was on the Century for a 12 day Norway Fjord and played in the casino. The machines are old. In fact they DO NOT have paper tickets and empty coins into hoppers creating the traditonal dings BUT also needing hopper refills which can be a pain when cashing out (hopefully) and being late to another ship function. Payouts are typical of cruise ships with mostly 94% perfect play video poker schedules. They still have an old "Big BAng Piggy Bank" machine which was one of the first "bonus round" games created with dot matrix animation.

Let's hope they keep the old machines that dispense real money. I do love to hear the quarters fall into the tray. Gambling is not what it used to be in the big casinos. Everything is so computerized. Love the OLD MACHINES AND ESPECIALLY LOVE THE PIGGY BANK SLOT MACHINE...
