funinthe sun Posted August 11, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2009 I just booked our family of 5 two cabins on the Carnival DREAM ,1 interior & 1 cove balcony across from each other (deck 2). It looks as though almost all of the well-talked about "cove" balcony cabins are just below the galley. After reading many posts here ,I'm wondering if I made a bad decision. Most posts are very negative , stating how noisy these cabins are all through the night. We were not able to get oceanview adjoining rooms . And I'm not sure I'm comfortable in a reg. balcony ,as we have a 2 year old toddler. I know this is a brand new ship and reviews aren't out yet, but we're traveling in Nov 2009 and I love some advice .Has anyone stayed in a newer (maybe better sound proofed ) ship that can advise me or reassure me that these won't be terribly noisy cabins? Thanks for your help....haven't been on a cruise for over 10 years and was looking forward to this trip.
GTO-Girl Posted August 11, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2009 For me personally I only book rooms that have cabins above and below them. I pay too much $$$ to risk the chance of being disturbed while I'm trying to sleep. Happy Sailing
California Native Posted August 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2009 VERY BAD! We were in cabin b621 on the Star Princess which was located below the Horizon Court galley They deep cleaned it between 11pm- 3am moving stuff, drawers slamming and then the water pressure hose they didn't score a 99 on the CDC for nothing we were eventually moved and then heavily compensated by Princess
