fanfare Posted August 14, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2009 Hi - Where can I find out what time we need to be on board by? We are sailing AOS out of San Juan on Nov 15th. R
Mark_K Posted August 14, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2009 It will be in your cruise documents when you get them. Although, I'd plan on at least two hours prior to sailing.
wolfcathorse Posted August 14, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2009 the port closes for boarding 1 hour before departure. Homeland Security rules for the cruiseships say you have to be checked in 90 minutes before departure. So if AD departs at 8:30 pm, you better be checked in and on board by 6 pm. That is the latest, but why wait to start your vacation??!! I'd board as soon as I can so I have time to familiarize myself with the layout of the ship! MikeR4306 Posted August 14, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 14, 2009 I just returned from AOS last Sunday. We boarded at noon, ate lunch then left the ship to tour old San Juan. We had to return by 5:30. Not sure if that was the latest boarding time. We were back about 4:45 and the lines to check in were still long. Muster drill was at 6:00 and Main Seating for dinner was at 6:30 on the first night. We left San Juan at 8:30 because we were just finishing dinner. All that to say I'm not sure. Just checked my cruise document and all it says is check-in starts at 2:00 and 60 minutes prior to sailing. Call RCI and ask or be there early and don't worry.
