when are formal nights

I was just wondering when are the 4 formal nights , I would think that they are on days when you are at sea and not calling at ports anywhere. Could someone please confirm this.

It depends on your itinery but the second night is usually the Captains welcome aboard formal night and the penultimate night is usually formal, often the black and white night. The other formal nights are fitted in where possible but often after a sea day rather than a port day.

I'd agree with that ! So wear fitted dresses at the begining of the cruise and loose fitting dresses in the 2nd week !:D
