cprofits Posted August 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2009 The pictures I've seen of the clamshells on HMC are all lined up in a line behind rows of lounge chairs. Are they permanently placed in their assigned spots and cannot be moved? We have young children and need to be near the water. Can clamshells be moved down to the front rows of chairs closest to the water? Thanks!

Thanks! cprofits - we had a cabana, not a clamshell, but I didn't see any clamshells that were moved closer to the water. It looked like the covers were fixed in place and the staff brought support rods to set them up. However, I really wouldn't worry about being nearer to the water - we had no problem keeping an eye on our kids with the cabana, which was behind the clamshells. I'm attaching a picture from our cabana that shows the distance to the shore - again, the clamshells were closer.
Typhoon1 Posted August 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2009 Clam shells cannot be moved close to the water. The tent part of the structure is in the sand, and the staff simply unfolds the tent and uses a prop rod to support it.
pmcue Posted August 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Also, those clamshells are in the very crowded area of the beach.
