KCMiller Posted December 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 29, 2004 Hi, I've been away for a while, but for those of you who remember back before 9/11, I thought you'd like an update - we just received our refund check for our cancelled Hawaiian cruise, which would have been on 12/7/01, on the Independance. The company went out of business shortly after the tragedy. What a sad day . . . and how final. Best wishes, KC
bug_dan Posted December 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 29, 2004 We were scheduled to sail over New Year's on the Independence, in 2001, what a disappointment. We had sailed on the New Year's cruise on the Indy the year before and were really looking forward to the cruise. We did the next best thing and flew over to the Islands for two weeks. Our credit card company promptly refunded our down payment.
Splinter Posted December 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2004 A sad reminder...we cruised twice on Hawaiian American, once on the Constitution (1986) and once on the Independence (1995) and had a great time both trips.
JohnQ Posted February 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2005 The Independence was our 1st cruise in 1985 I think. Also first trip to Hawaii. Must have been okay as we have been back two or three times, once for a month on Maui, and another for my son's wedding on the beach in McKena. Thinking about another trip right now. My wife says twice to Alaska is enough until she gets some warm sun days!!!
4crazycruisers Posted February 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2005 Glad you got something. We had a half cruise free credit from the Patriot of the same company. Too bad they went under.
