ccheng64 Posted August 19, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2009 I just booked two reposition cruises. Sep 19th Golden Princess Seattle to Vancouver (1 night) mini suite 56.95 + tax& fee 35.19 = 92.15 Sep 21st Star Princess Vancouver to San Francisco (2 night) inside 67.86 + tax& fee 32.55 = 100.41 The 1-night cruise has higher tax and fee. Does anyone know why? I really don’t understand at all. Thanks:confused:

Kamloops50 Posted August 19, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2009 It is also that US Immigration charges more for there service in San Francisco :cool:
ccheng64 Posted August 19, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted August 19, 2009 Sorry but both your answers confused me. If San Francisco charges more, why the tax and fee of the 2 day crusie is lower? (Vancouver -> San Francisco) Or did you intend to say Seattle charges more port fee&tax \ Vancouver charges more in immigration service?

Pam in CA Posted August 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Fees are typically port fees which vary by ports visited. Could taxes vary by State as well? Very possibly. Neither Princess nor the US Government impose port fees or taxes. In every case, they are local port and/or state taxes. For instance, Alaska charges more than any other state regardless of the port. FLACRUISER99 Posted August 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Am I the only one that thinks these Taxes & Fees should be itemized and not just all lumped together.

To confuse matters even more, we are on the same two cruises and our prices break down as follows: Sep 19th Golden Princess Seattle to Vancouver (1 night) Obstructed View 34.00 + tax& fee 60.19 = 94.19 Sep 21st Star Princess Vancouver to San Francisco (2 night) balcony 219 + tax& fee 82.55 = 301.55 Go figure!!!!
