Independance Presidential Family Suite

Recommended Posts

Was checking as always cabin availability for 12/09/09 med sailing on independance and noticed that the PS had been reduced in price drastically. (was £14.5K last week, for 2 people, now its £5.6K) And I just couldn't let it go. So I paid the £850 PP upgrade and now I can't wait. I have read the website, but what exactly am I letting myself in for?

What does the PS include? What amenities are available?

What a way to introduce my partner to cruising? Just hope we don't rattle around the place to much....

Thanks in advance for any help...photos would be great too...

Yeah I have checked it out a few times, I still can't beleive we have managed to get it. I think you may have the slightly nicer room, especially with only two of you. A lot of the PS is taken up by the additional 3 Bedrooms, which we won't really use. I can't actually think of a way to use all that space. The balcony looks amazing, loads of space, shame the view through the supersturcture isn't the best...but I just don't care..How cool are those jacuzzis (royal suite has one too right?)...

I am even more suprised as I had been watching for price drops, balconies and JS, but nothing came close. The cruise is just selling soo well...looks like it will be busy. Can't wait. Are you on 12 sept cruise too?

How well have you done. We are on IOTS in October and have paid £340 each to upgrade from a D1 to a Grand Suite. Like you it has made us so much more excited about the cruise.

The benefits you will get are as follows:-

On arrival at the pier, guests booked in the Presidential Family Suite, Royal Suite, Royal Family Suite, Owner's Suite and Grand Suite have access to dedicated security (where available) and check-in lines to help ease them swiftly through the embarkation process and directly to their suite accommodations. Additionally, guests booked in the Royal Suite and Presidential Family Suite are personally welcomed by a senior officer at the cruise terminal and escorted to their suite.

Upon check-in, all guests booked in Grand Suite and higher category staterooms receive distinctive gold SeaPass cards, which enable ship crew and staff to provide them with the personalized service and offerings available to suite guests throughout their cruise. On arrival in their suites, guests are welcomed with complimentary water and a fruit plate. Complimentary slippers, luxury spa bathrobes and Royal Caribbean International's exclusive range of Vitality bathroom amenities--specially created for the cruise line--set the tone for a relaxing and rejuvenating cruise vacation. In the evenings, guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with Ghirardelli chocolates at turndown, and ensure a perfect night's rest with Royal Caribbean International's plush duvet and bedding, including a special menu to select their pillow of individual preference.

On the first formal evening of the cruise, these guests are treated to a pre-dinner cheese presentation, and on the second formal or final evening of the cruise, a 'petits fours' plate during turndown service. Guests also enjoy complimentary 24-hour room service and coffee and tea service throughout their cruise, and the exclusive privilege of ordering from the main dining room's full breakfast, lunch, or dinner menus to dine in the privacy of their suite. For guests wanting to stay in, a popular board game from toy brand Mattel's game menu can be ordered for delivery to the suite for hours of fun game time. A dedicated suite attendant will deliver Royal Caribbean International's Gold Anchor Service throughout the cruise and help to fulfill any special requests, such as pressing service--complimentary on formal evenings.

Guests booked in Grand Suite and higher category staterooms have special privileges and access on their Royal Caribbean cruise, including an invitation to an exclusive private cocktail reception hosted by the Captain of the ship. Reserved VIP seating in the main theater for entertainment shows, priority bookings for appointments in the salon and spa, and priority tendering and shore excursion tickets are some benefits provided to suite guests. On Voyager- and Freedom-class ships, suite guests have reserved VIP seating poolside as well as at the spectacular ice shows in the Studio B venue. Guests dining in the Windjammer during breakfast and lunch also enjoy reserved private seating in the adjacent specialty restaurants.

Aboard Radiance-, Voyager- and Freedom-class ships, these suite guests will receive a personal key to the Concierge Club. Hosted by the ship's concierge, the Concierge Club offers suite guests a relaxed atmosphere, business services such as faxes and photocopies, an extensive library of DVDs and CDs, and complimentary continental breakfast and pre-dinner cocktail receptions daily. The concierge is on-hand to see to the needs of the suite guests and assist with any special requests, such as securing reservations in specialty restaurants, pre-ordering wine for dinner, booking Explorations! shore excursions, scheduling spa and salon appointments, and arranging a private event.

At the conclusion of their cruise, these suite guests enjoy priority departure from the ship and complimentary valet luggage service, where their bags are automatically transferred to the airport, freeing them to enjoy an excursion or other pursuits at the port city.

Chris, the information was sent to me a couple of weeks ago by RCCL. Like you we had paid for an upgrade (D1 to a Grand Suite) and I asked what benefits we would be entitled to. We usually cruise with P&O and have paid four times more for a suite and not had nearly as many benefits.

I'm sure you will enjoy your upgrade. Please post a report on your return.

Thats awesome Karen, thanks for confirming that it up to date. There are some very nice touches that I am looking forward to.

This is a bit of a long shot, but do you know if the DVD players in the suites will be USA region, or multi region? I might have to start a new thread for that answer, but thought i'd check with yo 1st.

Hi Bossy,

How did you find out the price for this suite? On RCCL's website? When I log into the site , it always tells me that you have to call for those cabins or that the room is reserved for more people than I am booking for (three).

Thanks

Hi Guys.

I have personal first hand experience of the Presidential Suite on IOS. My family & I travelled in the suite last October for a cruise to the Canary Isles.

Firstly I would like to say it was a fantastic cabin although I do agree with one of the posts that most of the room is taken up by the bedrooms (ok when they are all occupied) but if only 2 of you not much use. Balcony fantastic although overlooked. Hot tub fantastic. Spent many a night in there with a glass of Champagne.

I would also like to say that a lot the perks a previous poster has outlined were non existent. I too asked on the forum what all the perks would be and recieved this fantastic list. A good proportion of these never materialised. Pillow menu, Captains party, priority disembarkation, Gold Seapass cards, personal escort to suite, and so much more. I felt we were treated much the same as anyone else would have been and for £14K I would expect so much more.

Maybe things have changed greatly over the past year.

Please dont go expecting all these perks & you wont be disappointed. There are many positive points too numerous too mention so I wish you a great cruise and if you require any further info i would be happy to oblige.

Great price though!!

Wendy

- To book this cabin you to call RCCL direct, I found its availability by using the TA's website that shows the available cabins, and it was also listed on the RCCL site. Usually the minimum is this cabin to book is 8? But as our sailing is only 3 weeks out so they removed the minimum number restrictions.

- Its great to hear from someone who has been in the room, and good to hear the hot tub is good and worth it as someone previously mentioned on another thread that it is a bit pathetic!

- Karen Thanks for enquiring about the DVD players, I shall start a thread we can both keep an eye on =]

Thanks to you all

Chris
