patterson3 Posted August 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 21, 2009 From the deck plan of the Summit it appears that the forward 2C cabins on the Summit (the ones with the extra large balcony) are directly above the theatre and I was wondering if noise is therefore a problem in these cabins? Thanks.
elvnga Posted August 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2009 I have been in one of these on two cruises. I don't recall ever hearing any noises from below. They are actually convenient to going "home" after the show if you can make it up just one flight of stairs without waiting for the elevator. greydog Posted August 22, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We had very first from front of these "sweet sixteen" cabins and I don't remember any theater noise issues. Some have mentioned that you are a little 'on display' from rearward higher balconies if you are at rail end of these deep verandas - but just behave UNTIL INSIDE. Mysteryreader Posted August 22, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We were in 6032--the first one back from the "sweet sixteen." (We didn't know there was such a thing at the time, and we could have had 6030. :-( ) Also over the theater. We never heard a peep. We liked the location very much. Very little traffic b/c the corridor dead-ends; convenient to the elevators; midway vertically so we took the stairs most of the time. The one disadvantage was it was a hike to the dining rm. OTOH, we needed the walk (actually a *lot* of walking) to burn off some of the calories. We're booked on a Panama Canal cruise in Oct, and we deliberately chose a cabin on the Penthouse deck again. pspercy Posted August 22, 2009 #5 Share Posted August 22, 2009 the first one back from the "sweet sixteen." In the "sticky" there's more than sixteen, or does that apply to 2C only ? If so there's seventeen on the 2C list: 2C- 6016,6018,6020,6021,6022,6023,6024,6025,6026,6027, 6029,6030,6031,6033,6035,6053,6048 http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=271503
