SouthernGal58 Posted August 22, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We will be in port on 9/29, this is our first port of call. I am not finding many suggestions for tour guides for this port. I typically do not use the ships excursions, as I book through local guides in advance. If anyone can send some names/suggestions please do! I have all the other islands already taken care of. Thanks in advance!
rjscott Posted August 22, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 22, 2009 We have used the services of Cameron Reid twice now and have had great experiences both times. Cameron provides a car and driver service and he has "standard" tours he will provide for you or he can customize a tour for you if you have specific sights which you wish to see on the island. Here is his website, which will give you an idea of the sights/attractions you might want to plan to see on Barbados. Cameron's direct email is included on the website. www.scenicbarbados.com
klfrodo Posted August 23, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2009 After 8 cruises, Captain Marvins Sting Ray tour in Grand Cayman and Silver Moon Catamaran in Barbados are tied for first place in my book of non-ship sponsered excursions. The fine folks at Silver Moon were friendly, helpful, and professional. There were only about 40 people on the catamaran. We swam with Sea Turtles, swam over a shipwreck, they fixed a fabulous lunch on board the cat, provided some nice beverages, then we actually "Sailed" (they turned off the engines and hoisted the sails) back to port. Here's their web site: http://www.silvermoonbarbados.com/htdocs/catamarans/index.html

lgaultcruise Posted September 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2009 I highly recommend sarah from Glory Tours http://glorytours.org We had a great day with her in Barbados. We found her rates very reasonable, she was extremely timely and was able to fit everything we wanted it :D
