Golfing in S. Caribbean islands

Recommended Posts

Casa de Compo- "Teeth of the Dog" (very awesome course) and a new course there "To Dye For"; "Dorado" Puerto Rico; "Tryall" & White Witch" Jamaica; "Barbados Country Club" Barbados; "St. Lucia C.C." was okay, not great. We booked all of our golf through the ship.

Tierra Del Sol on Aruba, Mahogany Run on St Thomas just for the Devils Triangle, El Conquistador on Puerto Rico (every putt breaks toward the water tower). Definitely Teeth of the Dog. Hyatt Dorado West in Puerto Rico.

Didn't think Sandy Lane on Barbados was worth it. Cedar Valley on Antigua was a riot, hard and fast. As the onboard golf guy said, you could top a ball 200 yards. You didn't need to watch it in the air, just on the ground. Cheap and fun. Don't think Mullet Bay on St Maarten is open to the public anymore, but it was a nice resort course. Pretty and not too hard.

Buy the tours thru the ship as they have the tee times based on their time in port and supply the transportation. They'll take care of you.

We've played all over the Caribbean and Hawaii off RCI ships and been happy with the results every time. Do it, you won't regret it.

Also, most of the courses have web sites that you can find by looking them up on Google.

Thanks for the input. Getting info for daughter and son-in-law who will be on AOS July 4 for their 1st cruise. Thought it would be best to book thru ship for golf.

Any other recommendations?
