Nassau Beach/Hotel Options

We're on the Majesty of the Seas in a couple of weeks. I've heard that some of the hotels like the Wyndham Cable Beach offer day passes for use of their facilities (pools, beach, ect...) Is anyone familiar with this? What would the cost per person be? Any help would be apreciated.

There is a beach (Cabbage, I think) that anyone can use, with no "day pass" needed. I'm not sure why you'd pay all that money to use a pool, when you've already paid for the use of the ship's pool, and it will be virtually EMPTY of others on a port day!

These people went to the Wyndham:

I was just there on the 8/17 Monarch and got a day pass at the British Colonial Hilton for $40. They give you use of chairs at pool and/or beach, beach towel, and a $30 voucher for food and drink. It is a short walk from the pier and has a great view of all the ships in port (see attached photo). The water was calm and clear. I loved it and would book again when visiting Nassau. I booked it at http://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/NassauHiltonResortPass.htm

wow...I can't imagine paying that much. I go to Nassau, Bahamas often via cruise ship. I am so glad I know people that work at the Hilton.

Not sure what you mean by your post? Real cost is basically $10 since they give you a $30 voucher for food and drinks. And what does you knowing someone who works at the Hilton have anything to do with it?

We were at the Wyndham & Sheraton in April- the Sheraton has a very good strip of beach, several pools, and all the amenities. A good place for beach people to spend a day in Nassau.

What was the cost per person if I might ask?

You could also go to Breezes for $55.00 per person for an all-inclusive day. I will be there in 3 weeks, this is what my GF and I are planning on doing. However if $10.00 is too much, $55.00 would probably be way out of your world..

55.00 is well worth an all inclusive day! I was't the one who thinks 10.00 is too much to pay. I'm on vacation a I work too hard not to enjoy myself on vacation. We are doing B2B and the hotel option is exactly what I'm looking for. We've done the Atlantis thing but I have better things to do than go to a casino. :) I'l probably do the Hilton on the first day then Breeses on the seond trip. Thanks!

We paid $40 pp for the Wyndham/Sheraton pass with a buffet lunch included.

The lunch was well worth the cost- as was the entire resort. We took a van cab from the cruise pier for $5pp and took the Jitney bus back for only

$1.25pp.

Check out the Wyndham/Sheraton online, as the Wyndham is having renovations done.

On the other hand, we enjoyed the British Colonial Hilton previously. Also very nice property.

Did you book the daypass for Wyndham/Sheraton ahead online or through ship or did you just go over there and get it?

You just go and get it. We are in Nassau a lot on cruises and we always go to Cable even though I am not happy they now charge $40, it used to be $15. My deal is I don't want to eat there! So to pay $40 for something i could care less about stinks. Last time, we just went over there, sat on a lounger and waited to see if anyone would come by and say anything to us. They didn't so we were there and so was another couple from Carnival and they did the same thing.

Right now, Wyndam is closed so we will go next door to the Sheraton. They charge $25 pp which I still think is way to much, but we will pay that if we have to. I don't like Cabbage - there are NO facilites. DH doesn't want to go to Hilton since it is so close to the pier, so Cable is our only real choice. We want the beach, so we will just hop the #10, and head over there.

Thanks for the info everyone! I just e-mailed the folks at the link above and just learned that they are dredging the harbor to accept larger ships (Oasis i guess ) and the water is a bit cloudy. So the pool and beach are open at the Hilton by the port. They did send me another link with information about a resort on Paradise Island, for $50 pp you get pool, beach, rafts, floats, and beer, wine and domestic liquor all included! I booked it for both days on the B2B. I think it's well worth it. Just in beer alone and for us, it's cheeper than staying on the ship! :D

See I would consider that if I were on the Majesty also. But being on the Monarch, it is just not worth it. We don't get in until noon, so the earliest you would get over there is 1 and it only is available until 5. Once we start going out of Miami and on the Majesty, I think we might do that.

Can you do me a favor since you are a beer drinker? Can you find out if one of the beers you can get included is Miller Lite? Thanks

I have been to that resort. You may want to think twice about it. They do not have Miller Light. There is not really much of a beach there and the pool is dirty. Read some of the reviews on Tripadvisor so that you know what to expect. I would recommend Breezes instead. They have an A/I day pass. The Sheraton has a very nice beach and a heated pool with swim up bar, but no A/I pass.
