Shopping in Cozumel vs. Grand Cayman

We're getting ready to cruise to Grand Cayman and Cozumel. I'd like to plan a little extra time for my wife to do some shopping. Has anyone shopped in both places? What advice can you offer on finding the best deals? If we were to only shop on one island, which would you choose? We'll take any and all advice. Thanks! :)

Cozumel is cheaper by a long shot but Cayman has some great quality items,I have to say both.

I have only done shore excursions at this port and can't remember any details. Is it easy to get into town for shopping?

Cozumel by a very long shot for me......GC is too expensive and less bartering.......

Depends on what you're shopping for, but I don't know that GC has anything I couldn't get at home (or online) for much cheaper.

Grand Cayman does have perfume that you can buy there,that you can only get in France,not that your probably interested unless your like me a perfume fanatic.....

Definitely Cozumel.

 

Don't get me wrong--there are lots of nice things to be purchased in Grand Cayman, but I've found that the real deals are to be had in Cozumel. Food, liquor, jewelry can all be found for reasonable prices.

So is the shopping area or downtown area of Cozumel withing walking distance?

Cozumel is by far my favorite. Cayman has beautiful stores with very upscale pricey items. I am sure you could do better in the US even considering taxes. There is one great(although small) store on the main street that has unique clothes, purses and island type jewelry.

Cozumel is good for pewter items and silver, different types of stones etc. The stores downtown and those at the ports have so much. If you do go downtown, get off the main street and explore the many shops that parralel the main drag. They also have interesting and unusual crafts, jewelry etc. Happy shopping:)

most definitely shop in Cozumel. It is by far the shopping mecca, but get away from the mall that is right at the port. Grand Cayman is very nice, but mostly designer brands and expensive. ENJOY!
