where does Westerdam dock in Curacao?

Tried posting this in Ports of Call with no success. Hopefully I can get some help here.

 

We have a rental booked through Avis at the mega pier location.

 

Does the Westerdam still dock at the old pier by the pontoon bridge within the city.

 

If it is indeed the old pier....how did you get to the Avis cruise ship mega pier booth? Is it far?

It may depend on what ships are there. When we were there on the Noordam we were at the new outer pier, while the Zuiderdam was at the pier inside the pontoon bridge. Since those ships are both the same size, I don't know how somebody decides which goes where. You can check cruisett.com to see what other ships will be there when you are.

 

The two piers are just a short walk apart ... maybe 1/2 mile.

Been there probably 5 or 6 times and have always docked at the outside dock. If you do dock in town it is a fairly short walk to the new pier.

We have been to Curacao on quite a few cruises.

And it never made any difference whether we were there on a week day or a Sunday or even if we were the only ship there -- we have ended up at the Mega Pier about 95% of the time.

Just depends on the whim of the port . . . generally mega pier, but not always. Vista ships will fit either pier and both are convenient walking distance to town.
