katiel53 Posted August 29, 2009 #101 Share Posted August 29, 2009 We go to the specialty restaurant on every cruise. On Glory we went to the Emerald Room and there was no live music or dancing. I think the piped in music was something by Abba. Still, that didn't ruin my dinner, lol. I thought the lobster bisque and crab cake were wonderful. When they served them in the MDR a few nights later, the quality was no where near the same nor did they taste as good. The surf n turf was also great. I don't remember any amuse bouche being served to us. I asked the other couple if they could remember and they didn't remember anything either. So, I don't know if for some reason Glory doesn't do that or they didn't the night we were there. In any event, I don't feel as though I missed anything. I especially love the ambiance. It is quiet, relaxing and when it's just my husband and me, very romantic. The MDR is noisy and even though we usually get excellent service there, it's not at all like the steak house. I am so looking forward to going to the Emerald Room again on Glory. I'm sure it will be another great experience. Enjoy!

I will be on the Glory in 7 days - YEAH FOR ME!!!! - eating at the Steakhouse on 3 evenings. We are celebrating various occasions including - the Emerakd Room is where he proposed in 2005 - down on his knee in the middle of the dining room. I am so sorry to hear they don't have the live music anymore - that was part of the ambiance for sure - but the food and service have always been outstanding in any Carnival Supper Club. I think the last time on The Legend we had 5 waiters for our table - just incredible service.
joshchristine100700 Posted August 30, 2009 #103 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Try the 24oz Porterhouse - I'm a big eater and it did me in. There are no steaks available in the MDR to compare to it. I'm hungry 24 OZ! Holy crap. That would be my DH dream dinner plate ( does it even FIT on a plate? ) but that would last me an entire week! Is there really a 24 oz steak on the steakhouse menu? If so, my DH will be drooling about our cruise sitting in Afgan and that just may get him through the next 9 months!
salty dingo Posted August 30, 2009 #104 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Yes, there is really a 24oz porterhouse. That's why people who say they would like to order multiple entrees are ridiculous!
Nicole721 Posted August 30, 2009 #105 Share Posted August 30, 2009 My 'net connection has slowed to a crawl, and can't search well right now. Anyone have any pictures of the offerings in the superclub/steak house to post here? Food Porn Pics Please. Ask and ye shall receive. http://sunglassesandumbrelladrinks.blogspot.com/2009/06/worlds-longest-miracle-review-part-9.html , about 2/3 down the page. I may get this instead of my planned sushi. This looks fantastic! And no doubt that chocolate thing looks awesome!
diathoney Posted August 30, 2009 #107 Share Posted August 30, 2009 Actually, YES, you can order another entree, but it will cost you an additional $30. There is a "surf and turf" option on the menu. Your husband could not EAT two entrees with all the courses. I was so full, I had to skip breakfast the next morning. On my recent HAL cruise the Pinnacle Grill was $20pp extra, then $10 for a second entree - not the full $20. In our case they waived the extra $10 because it was DS 15th birthday and he was the one ordering the extra lobster tail.
