First time on Silversea

We have sailed Regent on the PG and loved it. I wanted to book Regent again for my husbands 50th, but could not find an itinerary that would work, so I chose Silversea Shadow for the Oct 3 LA to LA Mexican Riveira cruise. Most posts are favorable but there are some "ok" reviews.

We are not stuffy travelers, but expect more from the higher end lines that cost considerably more. Service is very important.

Does anyone have any advice for the Mexican ports? I did see there are not many shore excursions to pick from. We like exploring on our own, but don't want to waste a port because we aren't sure what things to do and see there.

Hi, welcome to SS. Can't help you with Mexico, but can give you some general information. When in port, there is a Tour Director at the desk on the 5th deck. This is the Lobby where you will find the Hotel Director, etc. He or she will be able to help you. You will also find Guidebooks and Info. on the ports you are in if you want to explore on your own. Enjoy!

Hi, I will be on the OCT 3 LA round trip as well. I have never been to the Westeren coast of mexico, and am looking forward to new ports. I have been checking out the posts on here in the port section.

 

Anyways look for me onboard, I will be easy to spot, Im 33 years old, buzzed hair, and marine tatoos. I bet I stick out.

I did book 2 excursions on the cruise. I opted for the wine tour in Ensanada, and the atv tour in manzillo. I have been doing research on the other 3 ports and will probally just take in the sights on my own, with the help of this site and guide books.

The wine tour in Ensenada is a lot of fun (we did it on other cruiselines but not SS) and since it is on SS ... it should be even greater!

They have a forum section for locations all over the world and you can ask local people what to see and do. They also have info in the non-forum sections on things to see and do.
