  1. We plan to watch the Kentucky Derby race, not all the pre race coverage. We looked over the horses slated to run. DH picked Fierceness as Velazquez is the jockey and he usually roots for him. I picked Track Phantom. Weโ€™ll see! Seems the favorite is Sierra Leone. We donโ€™t bet on much, but we have placed bets on the KD at a local OTB in the past. Are there any OTB places anymore? A number of years ago, we attended a family wedding near Louisville KY. Since it was a late afternoon wedding, we used the morning time to take a tour of Churchill Downs. It is a beautiful place. We have also gone to Belmont Park for both the big race and other times for regular races. My DHโ€™s grandfather was a member of the Track and Field club there and he would lend us his pass to have lunch at the club and watch the races. Belmont has been changed to a casino and entertainment venue, although the race track remains. Wishing you all a winning day! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  2. @jmh2006 Sending you and your family my sympathy for the loss of your father. ๐Ÿ’ MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  3. Something strange-I went to write a new post and the post about the cactus was still in the reply spot. I thought once a post appeared on the thread, it was gone from the reply area. Not sure about this? Anyway- @Momof3gurlz A friend of mine had both hips replaced at the same time. She was early sixties then. She had a great recovery. She will tell anyone that asks the reason for the recovery was that she followed all the Drโ€™s and PTโ€™s directions thoroughly. It has been over ten years since the surgery and she is doing great-plays pickleball and golf. Wishing your DH great success with the surgery and aftercare. Wishing you good days too as his caregiver- hoping DH follows all your directions too!๐Ÿ˜‰ @Sea Dog Just remembered about the dosage of Turmeric. Dr recommended 2,000 MGs I have read that it should not be taken in conjunction with BP medication but 2-3 hours after. I think someone else answered your question. My response is a day late and a dollar short, but hope it helps. MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  4. Going back to posts about Christmas and Easter cactus. My cactus has had buds for days and is finally starting to bloom. I am thinking that it may even be a Motherโ€™s Day cactus as it will soon be May! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  5. @Luckynana I started a thread with a question about mask mandates. Thread is on page 2. Title is Question for Recent Passengers on a RCL Ship. My DH read something online about mask mandates. We had a discussion that I thought it was no longer the case and the info he read was outdated. To end the discussion, I went in CC for info. A poster was giving me some difficulty about me posting the question and thought I was a troll. That posterโ€™s comments have now been deleted. Several posters from Daniโ€™s thread wrote some good things about me and defended my posting. Just to say-one bad apple doesnโ€™t spoil the whole bunch! Take care MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  6. @Ocean Boy Who knows the whys or wherefores?๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  7. When I consulted a neurologist for spinal stenosis, he recommended Tumeric for the inflammation. The only thing is, I need to remember to take it regularly! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  8. @LadyZolt I have enjoyed following your journey as I have been reading your posts and admiring your photos. It is concerning for you to have to leave the ship halfway into the adventure, but you have certainly traveled to places that some of us will never see in person. Hoping your family situation is something that can be positively resolved. Take care MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  9. Bonnie-I think you are right about the Tootsie pop. That would be a good avatar for Graham as he is in the confectionary business and he has a sweet (as in pleasant) personality! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  10. @Ocean Boy Maybe theposter got a warning, not a time out. I did notice their posts were deleted on โ€œthatโ€ thread. I also could not get CC on my IPhone, but did get it on my iPad. So, not an individual problem but something with CC as a number of people experienced a glitch. It is a bright and sunny day on Eastern LI. Wishing all posting here a pleasant Saturday! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  11. Thatโ€™s okay @Coralc. I feel sorry for people who have to express themselves with such negativity. Wishing you a good night. MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  12. Thank you for the update @Ocean Boy. I hadnโ€™t gone to that thread today. Apparently, CC is monitored for posts that make negative , pointed remarks to a fellow poster on a thread.Or, someone reported the poster. I had thought about reporting that poster, but thought if I didnโ€™t respond to anything posted by that individual, they would get the messsge and give up. Take csre MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
  13. @grapau27 Graham-I understand your situation. My DH has arthritis in his knees and back. Playing college football and rugby led to this present state. He also cannot take anti inflamatories due to compromised kidneys. He manages as best he can-some days better than others. Glad you got out to the beach. Seeing water is spirit uplifting. Our outing today is taking my car for inspection and oil change. It is a 20 minute drive from home, so we will take in the bright sunshine and flowering trees along the way. Wishing you and all who post here a pleasant day! MJ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
