Time to waste in Tampa. Any ideas?

Will be getting off the Star on Jan 10th, around 10 or 11. Going to ask concierge if we can take our time. Our flight isn't till 6pm. Anything to do before we head to the airport? Group of 7.

The Aquarium is right next to the port. Walking distance. I don't know but would imagine there is a process for handling luggage.

Ybor City can be reached by trolley from the port... Possible for lunch but not a lot else to do.

Busch Gardens is about $90 a person but will keep everyone busy is a cab ride form the port again not sure what options for luggage.

Close to the airport is International mall with a nice street of restaurants attached.

The Florida Aquarium is great. Being January, you'll probably have great weather in Tampa too. (I live here.)

Other options downtown(ish):

*Tampa Bay History Museum is relatively new, is riverside and has a great Columbia Cafe attached to it.

*lunch at the original Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City (can get to via trolley)

*Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus will be finishing up a run that week at Amalie Area

*Tampa Riverwalk area which borders the river, parks and museums (Glazer Childrens, Tampa Museum of Art, Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park)

When we were leaving the post on Sunday there were folks with signs offering luggage storage. We didn't need it so I didn't get any details.

I love the Riverwalk. You would need to store your luggage though. Research Ybor as there is a lot of history there. Since you have that much time, you could rent a car and go to Clearwater Beach. That is my favorite place to date in Florida.

I will be in this position too with several hours before my evening flight out of Tampa. Does NCL offer post cruise excursions with an airport drop off in Tampa?

The question is not if there is something to do but what do you prefer to do as there are so many choices!

We went to tampa bay downs (racetrack) and the casino. Had a nice time. Generated a little income! YMMV

Luggage storage was available in the terminal free of charge until 3 pm if you purchased aquarium tickets, which were $20 each for adults. We took advantage of this to waste time before our flight. The aquarium was great, only took about 2 hours or so to go through.

Aquarium is nice.

Ybor City is a cool place.
