Hotel Davanzanti - Florence

Hotel Davanzanti has been recommended to us for a pre-cruise stay. Has anyone stayed there and did you find it as wonderful as was described to us??? Other suggestions! Thank you.

We didn't stay there, but we passed by it this year when my wife and I were in Florence for a week in late April. It looked lovely, and the location is great, but if you have any mobility problems you should know (and I quote from their website) "...there are 26 steps from the street level to reach our elevator."
