Norway Beats Denmark for "Happiest"!!??

From Yahoo News and the Reuters newswire this morning, they have this headline: “Norway unseats Denmark as world's happiest country” with these highlights: “Norway displaced Denmark as the world's happiest country in a new report released on Monday that called on nations to build social trust and equality to improve the wellbeing of their citizens. The Nordic nations are the most content, according to the World Happiness Report 2017 produced by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), a global initiative launched by the United Nations in 2012. Countries in sub-Saharan Africa, along with Syria and Yemen, are the least happy of the 155 countries ranked in the fifth annual report released at the United Nations.”.

Personally, we have enjoyed BOTH countries from multiple visit. Yesterday, CBS Sunday Morning had a profile on their newscast about Denmark and its happy people. They also noted about the high tax rates and fairly small, common mixes of their populations/demographics, etc. Lots of factors involved.

This story also noted: "Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Finland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden rounded out the top ten countries. Germany was ranked 16, followed by the United Kingdom (19) and France (31). The United States dropped one spot to 14."

I was happy to see (it was on CNN's website) that Norway was the "happiest" place to live.

We will enjoy Norway for the first time in June, on an NCL cruise.

So much violence and just plain old unhappiness in the world (and the news) right now.

Norway sounds like a happy and peaceful place, not to even mention the BEAUTY I've witnessed on your blog and in your posts.
