Turn-around day tour question

we'll be in Nice for turn-around day; we're in port 6am-8pm. We'd like to do a tour that day but have no idea when we need to be back on the ship. Any ideas/suggestions? I assume we'll need to be back for the lifeboat drill

Are you doing a back-to-back or embarking in Nice?

Either way you can most likely arrange to arrive late, e.g. by 7pm, and attend the make-up lifeboat drill the next day...it's just easier if your sailing on the earlier voyage and can arrange this in person.

Curious, that on our last couple of B2B Holland America cruises, we have not been required to attend the life boat drills on the second leg.

Obviously there must be some regulatory relaxation on the mandatory life boat drills. I can understand that any cruise line might wish to be more diligent than meeting the minimum requirement, but there seems to be an allowance to not require it.
