Internet plan question

Do you have to buy the plan for the entire cruise?. Can I logoff from my smart phone and then onto my laptop or do I have to purchase a plan for my laptop?

Thx.

You can buy different plans, entire cruise, 24 hours, etc. However it´s always consecutive time you buy. So i.e. 24 hours is 24 hours consecutive time, not like use on hour today and then another two tomorrow, etc.

Yes it can be used on different devices if you log out on one device and the continue on another.

They do offer plans for the use of two devices as well, These are for the use on two devices at the same time. On that note, I always purchase the one device plan and have been able to log in with a second device without logging off the first one and it simply logged off the first one automatically.

You can buy internet at a daily, 24 hours continuous rate of about $20 for one device, which you can use several devices but not at the same time, or two devices, which can be used at the same time, for about $30.

The wording from RCL is not very clear.

But basically you can pay $20 per day (24 hour period) for ONE device to be logged in at a time. Finished with your phone? Go to "Logout.com" and log in on your laptop - still only using one device at a time.

Hope that makes sense.

This is what we plan to do when we cruise Oasis next February with my brother and his wife. We are each Diamond so we'll have 4 free 24 hr periods to use between us.

We will schedule each of our 24 hrs so as to cover 2 days, the afternoon of one day and the morning of the next day. During the 24 hr period one couple will have even hours, 2, 4, 6 etc, to login and the other couple will use the odd hours, 3, 5, 7, etc. We'll each be able to check mail or FB or whatever throughout the day.

Each person has to remember to log out at the end of their hour each time.

One more thing, once on the ship, put your phone in airplane mode, then turn on WiFi only. This will prevent any accidental cellular data from being used. Also, many times, your phone apps are set to automatically update when connected to WiFi. Be sure you have auto-update turned OFF. The connection speed is slow enough without trying to update 47 applications on your phone at the same time you are trying to read FB.

Has anyone tried getting the multi-plan on the 2nd, 3rd or 4th day, with it continuing through the end of the cruise?

Do you just get charged for the remaining days, and is it still at the same discounted daily rate as if you'd signed up on day 1?

-----------------

You just get charged for the remaining days. I know the price did not change when we signed up on day 2, but don't know about subsequent days.
