Portland Customs after Canadian ports?

We will be stopping in Portland after 2 Canadian stops. Will we go through Customs and does anyone know how long it will take? We are all US citizens with passports. We are scheduled to arrive at 9am and are interested in booking an independent tour for 9:30. I am also posting this on the Celebrity board. I believe we are the only ship in port that day.

If Portland is the first US port after Canadian ports, you will have to go through customs. I would not book any tour or excursion for 9:30am.

I agree. 9:30 is too early if you really arrive at 9:00 a.m. We went through customs in Portland two years ago and it took quite a while.
