Fog Delays - Flight time suggestions

I will be on a group cruise at the end of January out of Galveston. For those with fog experience, what is a safe flight time out of IAH? When there are delays, how long does it usually last?

Too many variables for anyone to tell you. How do you plan around an air controllers strike in Paris, ice and storms in northeast US, hurricanes in Florida ?

Mother Nature is an exception to the rule , and the nature and extent of any circumstantial event which out of our control is not possible to plan around.

I realize it is hard to determine the weather but in general, does the fog blow out by the afternoon or does it hang around for days?

Yes to both. Sometimes it lifts in the morning, sometimes not. The majority of time we have no fog. It all depends on the weather at that time.
