I would add the Trollfjord (in the Lofotan Islands). Visited there twice during my Hurtigruten trip and it was breathtaking each time.

Could you talk about cruising with hurtgrutin...what do you miss by not being in ports very long?

Agree, Trollfjord is spectacular. But, I think only ships up to 40 000 tons can cruise the fjord. (I did it a few times on the Royal Viking Sun (now Prinsendam))

Super nice link and wonderful pictures from these great areas of Norway. Agree on the wonders with the Trollfjord in the Lofoten Islands. Below are a couple of pictures of that narrow and dramatic fjord to prove its special merit. We were on a smaller cruise ship to make visiting there possible. This narrow passage is only 100 meters wide' date=' about a mile long and with a depth of only 60 meters.

From the portside control area, here is the view as our ship sailed up this narrow 300’ wide passage in the Trollfjord as a part of the Lofoton Islands along the Norway coast.:

This is the view from the back of our ship for the narrowness of the fjord that we had just sailed up and through which we must return.:

This is a wider view within the fjord of the larger waterfall and the more massive sheer rock face that lined the side of this area.:
