chloe kitty Posted February 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2016 (edited) We will dock in Aqaba in May. Due to medical reasons, we cannot go to Petra. The Dead Sea is too far, so we will probably spend our time in Aqaba. I usually travel with my husband, but this time it is with a friend instead. We will be two women alone. We have quite a few questions. What is there to do? How is the beach? How are the malls? Does the ship dock near town? Are the taxi's honest? Is the beach convenient to the docking area? When in town is there a dress code we should follow, so as to not offend anyone? Is it safe for two women alone? We would appreciate any help you can give us? Thank you. 40yearcruiser Posted March 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2016 I am also interested in what to do in Aqaba so hope there are cruisers to answer your questions. We (I'll be with my husband) have been to Petra so prefer to stay in Aqaba. What is there to do in easy reach from the port?
chloe kitty Posted March 18, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 18, 2016 I am also interested in what to do in Aqaba so hope there are cruisers to answer your questions. We (I'll be with my husband) have been to Petra so prefer to stay in Aqaba. What is there to do in easy reach from the port? So far, it doesn't seem like there is much to do. Some of the hotels apparently have day usage rates for the Red Sea beaches. There is very little shopping, and very few interesting site to see. I hope someone will respond who knows the area.
