Help me decide

We are taking a cruise next year out of Venice. Have been to Rome already. Would like to see Tuscany precruise for about 3 days. We could fly directly into Florence and then take train to Venice. There are more options if we fly into Rome and take train to Florence and then Venice. Has anyone done this that could tell me if trains were easy to navigate. Thanks in advance as we are just at the planning stage. Any ideas or opinions are appreciated.

Have traveled extensively by train in Italy (and there are many threads here discussing trains in Italy) and yes, it is pretty straightforward, and as long as lugging your bags isn't an issue, pretty simple.....Everything is pretty clear and easy to use.
