luvn2cruzzz Posted August 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2015 We have not sailed on Princess in many years but on other lines. Our experience is that when you get to the dock you check in and when your group is called you board. Or if we have status on that line, we are whisked away onto the ship. We received an email from Princess yesterday advising us of their 'progressive check-in' procedures. If you have arranged your own transportation you board by deck and each deck has a time allotted to it. Our deck which by the way is not at the bottom of the ship, is not until 4:00 which is quite disturbing. I keep thinking I am reading this wrong or don't understand it somehow. Can someone please shed some light on this? Thanks in advance.

JF - retired RRT Posted August 30, 2015 #3 Share Posted August 30, 2015 We usually arrive between 10:30 & 11. Never paid any attention to progressive boarding times, even when we had a blue card. Don't forget: embarkation lunch in the MDR (usually the one on deck 6 midship). Very quiet and great food. Avoid the Horizon Court, it is a zoo on the first day. luvn2cruzzz Posted August 30, 2015 Author #6 Share Posted August 30, 2015 Thanks, all. I just had never seen that before so will just do what we always do and go early and get on the ship!
likestorelax Posted August 30, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2015 I believe the cruise lines are trying to do crowd control at the pier and prevent everyone showing up to board at the same time. I have heard that they are not enforcing the boarding times. My husband and I are planning on arriving early for our upcoming cruise in fort Lauderdale. We are platinum members so we figure we will get on quickly.
