tring Posted July 13, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2015 (edited) Some good photos - especially the one going under the bridge. Thank you for posting them. I cannot help noticing that there are very few passengers out on deck surveying the scene. I wonder if most of them are down with tummy problems! Great photos though.

AL ZYMER Posted July 14, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2015 Lovely photos - thank you for posting!! Great pictures. Time stamp around lunch time for most of us. The canal is around 60 miles long. I expect most passengers went on deck to see the transit at some point.....Looking forward to seeing it early September.
Discount lovers Posted July 14, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2015 A little bit harsh I think :) The Kiel canal transit doesn't rank as one of the most scenic, unless you are into industrial chic... This is true but . . . . we transited the canal one winter a while back on a Christmas Markets cruise and a covering of white was just what was needed to make it attractive! Mark_T Posted July 14, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2015 I guess our Kiel transit was memorable because we got an extra two days on the cruise due to weather problems which first caused us to stay in the canal longer than planned then they kicked us out of the canal to avoid the risk of damage and we had to go hide in Hamburg to ride out the storm surge before eventually making it back to the UK. As a bonus we got the benefit of the Christmas decorations and a full turkey dinner that had been planned for those on the following cruise :)
