Annagon24 Posted April 19, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Hi, We are on May 25th Paul Gaugin sailing and we are wondering about a day pass/package for one of the resorts in Bora Bora. There is a package to Intercontinental through Paul Gaugin but we were wondering if we can book our own package. Does anyone have any info? We would consider Intercontinental Bora Bora, Four Seasons, St. Regis, Le Meridien. We would need to be picked up at the pier as well. We were also thinking of a booking a spa treatment at the Intercontinental Thalasso Resort & Spa and wondering if we could arrange our own transportation to that resort? Are there any pre-arranged taxis? We would need a ride in the boat as well to get to the strip with the four resorts above. Any suggestions/info is greatly appreciated. Anna The easiest and least expensive way to get to the InterContinenal on Bora Bora is to just take the shuttle from the tender pier to Matira Beach ($5 pp each way). Matira beach is connected (just a few steps away) to the InterContinental. Two years ago friends booked an overwater bungalow for the overnight our ship spent there, and they were told they could invited guests for the day. They did just that and 6 of us from the roll call spent the day there. Looked like a great hotel, and they have a very nice beach. Although I didn't even realize they had day passes (we sail on Princess in Tahiti). A day pass has never been offered to us as passengers visiting Bora Bora, and I have not known anyone on our ships that found a hotel in Bora Bora that offered them. Not saying there aren't any, but we have never heard of them being offered by any of the hotels before on that island. Emdee Posted April 20, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Suggest you communicate with the hotels directly - thats how we found out about the Hilton Day Pass in Moorea and the Intercontinental Day Pass in Tahiti. The PG has started offering day passes at the Intercontinental hotels in Moorea and Bora Bora since Pacific Beachcomber took over the running of the ship. If you are just looking for a beautiful beach suggest you go to the Motu Tevairoa on the PG Shuttle. You can return to the ship for lunch. We usually spend at least one if not two days on the Motu when the PG is in Bora Bora.
Annagon24 Posted April 20, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted April 20, 2011 Thank you for all your replies! I have heard back from Intercontinental La Moana: First of all, thank you to getting in touch with us. Le Moana Resort proposes a beach pass at 6500xfp per person include a lunch (2 courses) and access at the beach. For the transfer you will be able to take a cab at the Vaitape Dock to our resort for 3000xfp. We trust this will give you satisfaction and look forward to hearing back from you. Also, Intercontinental Thalasso emailed me back that they don't offer day passes.
Emdee Posted April 21, 2011 #5 Share Posted April 21, 2011 Annagon, while the Thalosso doesnt offer day passes to casual customers it is offered as an excursion on the ship so you can book it through the PG.
AZDee Posted January 4, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 4, 2014 Does anyone know anything about the availability of a day pass at one of the Beach Hotels around Papette? I know there are not very many. Or maybe a Hotel that allows you to use their grounds when you have lunch there or use their spa services....

Northern Aurora Posted April 15, 2015 #8 Share Posted April 15, 2015 Since we had been to Bora Bora on prior occasions we just wanted to spend the day at a hotel when we had a port call there last October. After some searching we found that the Sofitel on Bora Bora offers day passes. We took a taxi to the Sofitel, and when we checked with the front desk (we had our e-mail in hand with the day pass price which included a food credit) the front desk clerk looked at it and asked if we wanted to take their private shuttle to their private island or just wanted to stay on the main property. We didn't want to bother with the private island so told her we just wanted to stay at the main property. She then politely asked if we were going to have lunch, and we said we were going to purchase lunch. Then she said there would be no resort fee and told us she hoped we enjoyed our day a their hotel. So we used their lovely pool, walked their lovely beach and purchased a lovely lunch (with wine) but did not pay a day pass/resort fee. It was a very relaxing day.
