Pacific eden - back from (esperance - really busselton) 4 days

Recommended Posts

Got back this morning. Did Busselton on Saturday, holed up in Geograph Bay, moved up towards Mandurah - but it was getting rough, so did a turn around to Geograph Bay and moved back towards Fremantle yesterday afternoon.

Review (sort of)

Plus: Cold food was cold. Minus: Hot food was cold. Did get to speak to assistant hotel manager, mentioned the food situation, and blow me down dead, we had the food and beverages manager in the pantry and I told him of our "observations" (don't like to call them complaints) and he said he had come down to assess the situation, so he had the servers "salading" the food - that is constantly turning it over, I had him feel the veges I had with the roast, he was not happy - so I got the hottest veges ever. ;p

Plus petite fours delivered to the cabin that night. (I felt embarrassed) He was there the following morning, and he was walking that line making the servers turn the food in the serving dishes. We got a hot breakfast.

So anyone who feels they have an issue, they are happy to fix it asap.

Someone mentioned in a previous post that the casino was opened on a 4 day cruise from Fremantle recently. Not the case, it was closed as per normal - doesn't happen in the Eastern States, but we got some encouraging information from the senior officer in Food & Beverage (we made him our friend :p) he said that even from today, things are in place now that we have a new Govt here, to change that situation, but Carnival had been in talks months ago in relation to not sending ships out of Fremantle and up the West Coast.

The cruise itself was good - and the ship was good also.

My son and his partner did their first cruise - now they're looking to get another in before the ships disappear from Freo.

Good cruise - enjoyed by all :D

Thanks for the mini review, glad you didn't have to rough a time. Also glad they are looking at the issues as they occur and trying to remedy them.

The review Lucky Puris did last year was the absolute best - so no point in doing a review - she covered everything. :D:D:D

I just wanted to point there is help on board if there are issues - and to clarify a couple of points for this cruise and gambling info for WA.

The Eden is off up the West Coast this afternoon and then it's over to Brisbane in a couple of weeks

We had the same result with fixing up issues regarding dining.

On the Eden last March it took well over 2 hours to get our first complete meal in the Dragon Lady. Loved the food but the service was no go. On going back to our cabin our steward asked how it was and we happened to mention that it spoilt the experience for us. We were not going to put in a complaint and just wrote it down to experience.

5 minutes later there was a phone call from the Dragon Lady manager offering her sincere apologies and offering us a bottle of wine or drinks as compensation. Our steward had unbeknown to us mentioned it to his supperior who had contacted the Dragon Lady and so they called us.

We were dumb struck. Son got a couple of free scotch and cokes and we became quite friendly with the Dragon Lady staff and ate there most of the voyage from then on. Amazing (y)
